The problem of childhood obesity is not new in Europe and above all in the USA. The number of overweight children and young people started increasing in 1980 and it is still going up. Nearly 61.4% of the population are overweight in America, so it is an important matter to get worried about obesity.
First of all, we have to take into account the fact that obesity is a serious disease since you gain weight quickly and you can’t stop it. A person can become obese or overweight due to his or her life style and diet. As a result, people put on weight because they take more calories than they burn off in a day and another thing that causes overweight is genetics. Moreover, this last reason is very difficult to fight as you can’t do anything because gens are stronger than you.
On the contrary, a person who is obese because he or she eats so much, he/she will be able to lose weight since he will only have to eat less than before and have a healthy life style, and do exercise of course. But being obese can cause psychological and emotional problems as well. Besides, obesity can cause other diseases such as breathing and heart problems, high blood pressure and so on. Besides, a person who is obese could feel discriminated by the citizens.
To fight this terrible disease, there are some ways to get out of this sheer hell, that affects half the population One of them is to eat a healthy diet consisting of 2000 calories and if it is possible the diet should be a low calorie one. Another way to fight overweight is becoming more active.
In short, I think that in high schools fast food such as pastries, juices, cakes, sweets should be banned and should be replaced with for vegetable sandwiches and natural juices because childhood obesity would be reduced since obesity can kill a human at an early age. But if this disease doesn’t stop it will kill many people before the age of fifty.
