Why people in general sleep less now than before?

In my opinion people in general sleep less now than before, there are several reasons why people sleep less.
One of the reasons is the tecnological advance, now there are more machines, which are invented to distract people, for example, most teenagers each evening talk between they with different interactive programes, wich we can find in the computers.
There are more machines to play with in our free time, like play stations, the majority of boys between 10 and 25 years old, spend more than 2 hours every day playing with the play station.
Another so common habit among students is to do their homework or study at the last moment, if you didn't study enough before the exam you have to study the night before the exam, spending the time that you would need to sleep.
Going out at night can be another reason, teenagers or university people like go out partying, when you go to university, you have a period of time, between one week and one month, when you can go out every night, after that, you don't go out ebery night but the partying time increases during these years.
I think this is very bad for us, because a person needs to sleep at least 8 hours every night to have a productive day, and this fact is very difficult to hide.
In conclusion, I think, that people can't change that habit, or it is too difficult, I recommend to sleep enough hours, I think it will be better for you.
